Bike Course

The bike course will consist of a 5.5 mile loop which will be done twice.

All participants shall wear a protective head cover, undamaged and unaltered, which meets or exceeds the safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and which is clearly labeled by the manufacturer as satisfying such standards.

The helmet must be fastened before the participant first mounts the bicycle, at all times when the participant is on the bicycle, and must not be unfastened until the participant has dismounted.

We will do our best to maintain a safe course for all participants. To this end, we will utilize city and private traffic control organizations. The route will be marked with signage, cones, and in some cases, painted arrows.

There is always the chance that motor vehicles can interfere with the ride, and as such, we ask that all participants be mindful of this and keep an eye out for any potential issues.

On some portions of the course, a bike lane will be established using cones and/or traffic barricades. Motor vehicles may be passing you during this time. Please be aware of your surroundings.

Passing other cyclists is allowed. Please pass on the left side of the cyclist you are passing and please use caution when doing so. Use Triathlete Courtesy to verbally communicate to the person you are passing. Once you have passed another cyclist and are at least 3 meters ahead of that cyclist, please move back to the right side of the bike lane.

Bike Mounting & Dismounting

You may only mount and dismount from your bike in the designated Bike Mount/Dismount Zone. Bikes must be walked out of the Transition Area and you may mount your bike in the Mount/Dismount Zone then. After your ride is over, you must enter the Mount/Dismount Zone, dismount, then walk your bike back into the Transition Area.

All bikes must be setup on the bike racks before and after you have completed the bike portion of the race.
